The client been a fan of my graduation pieces and approached me to create an identity for her (then) new business.

She wanted a brand that would convey the vintage, up-cycled nature her products, and hint at the exotic places they had travelled from.

I took direct inspiration from the source of her goods - India.

My end result was the Lotus flower design you see now. The flower holds strong cultural significance throughout India. The vintage compass design nestled in the centre evokes feelings of wanderlust.

I finished the lockup with a vintage, hand-painted style typeface, and supplied the client with a considered list of pastel colours to work with.

I continued to design packaging collateral for the client as she developed and established her business.

The client was looking to start his own small-scale commercial painting firm, and he approached me to develop a brand for it.

He wanted a brand that was clear, easily visible, and conveyed the commercial nature of the business.

Taking inspiration from my own experience on job sites, I experimented with abstract city-scape shapes, and warning signs. I also selected a deep bluey-purple as the brand colour to make it stand out amongst the firms of his contemporaries.

The client was very happy with the end result, and I designed other brand collateral for him including signage for the exteriors of buildings under his contracts.

The logo combined with an image treatment as you see it now, is a subtle hint that through coating, you actually highlight the building’s beauty.

During a contract in Auckland, I was asked to pitch-in on a brand project for a new documentary initiative.

I worked closely with the studio director, and under his direction I developed the logo you see now. It was chosen by the organisation and remains as their logo today.

I also developed web layouts that were initially utilised in part, but have since been replaced.

After an extensive career in construction, the client was looking to strike out on his own and focus on the sorts of contracting he most enjoyed. I was approached to create a logo for the business.

He was set on “Vision” as the name, and wanted a logo that would convey the idea of skill and longevity.

After playing with lots of iconography, we both agreed that the pyramids best represented these points. The end result was this stylised pyramid design, where the “V” (for Vision, obviously) is built into the fabric of the structure.

I created a new identity for the business.

The owner wanted a new, clean look - but one that still related to hair. Most importantly he wanted signage that would stand out amongst the local shops. This was my solution.

I designed several colour-ways that could work together. He ended up using them all across his premises, to great effect.
